On this day...well, yesterday

A year ago yesterday was the day I found out I was pregnant with James, who would become known as Baby C for the next 9 months. It was my little secret for a few hours. I didn't tell Chris until the next morning when I tested again and it was still positive. And no one else knew for several more weeks, until we had the first ultrasound.

It is amazing how much your life can change in a year's time. What was once an usused room is now a nursery full of tiny clothes, diapers and a place of rest. Our living room has been taken over by baby toys and activities. Our fridge and freezer are full of stored breast milk. More time is spent washing bottles and doing laundry. Activities outside the home have to be scheduled and coordinated with the next feeding or nap, which means we just don't get out as often as we would like. But most of all, our lives are full of joy and more love than you ever think possible. James is always good for a cuddle in your arms, a smile and a laugh when you've had a rough day, a new milestone reached. All that in just a year's time.
