So it's been a while...

We've been a little, make that a lot, busy the past several weeks. Here's a short run down of what James has been up to:
  • Trip 1/3: Weekend trip to VF to see the Grandparent's Coleman
  • Trip 2/3: Weekend trip to KC for my 10 year high school reunion (go Tigers) and to see the Grandparent's McClure
  • Trip 3/3: Extended Labor Day weekend trip to Arizona to hang out with Kelly and Scott and the Grandparent's McClure, and to check out our (okay, the Grandparent's) new winter home (right down the street from Kelly and Scott, can't get more convenient than that!) Kelly put together an awesome video of our trip over on her blog. Check it out! And here are my pics (it was a low photo month).

Oh, and James turned 9 months old too! I can't believe my little guy is already 9 months old. It's only 3 more months until he is a year old. Seriously, is time moving in fast forward? He has continued to grow (19.5 lbs and 29 inches long), is crawling up a storm, can pull himself up to a standing position and has even uttered his first word...MAMA! Everyone told me it wouldn't be, but he is his mama's boy through and through.

I stopped nursing him a few weeks ago. It just felt like the right time. We're trying to get him transitioned to eating more real food (not baby food from a jar) but the only things we've been successful with are goldfish, Cherrios, bread and french fries (oh yes, he's had his first McDonald's french fry). The texture of chunky food just doesn't appeal to him yet.

We plan on staying close to home for a while. Three weekends of traveling in a row do a number on the sleep schedule of a baby (although he is an awesome traveler), and just make me feel like I have weeks of catch-up to do around the house. But feel free to come for a visit! The guest room is always open.
