Our photographer Megan asked James this during his one-year photo shoot to try and eek out a smile, a laugh, anything emotion really (done a few weeks early so we could be outside, for what turned out to be the last warm weekend of the year). I thought James was a sourpuss through the entire thing, but a good photographer can see past those moments of noncooperation and fussiness and capture the true spirit of the child.
