Dollar Tree beauty, would you dare?

This article from Suburban Turmoil cracked me up. Would you/could you buy your make-up from the Dollar Tree? The result looks like Paris Hilton gone bad!

I tried to cut back on the cost of some of my beauty products, but I'm not having much luck. I used some Herbal Essence shampoo when my Bumble and Bumble ran out and I HATED it. The B&B is pretty pricey, so I'm going back to Aveda (slightly cheaper) for a while to see if that suits my hair fancy. I checked out "Don't Go to the Cosmetic Counter Without Me" by Paula Begoun to research facial products, and I'm in process of trying out her line of products (first set I got did weird stuff to my face, on to set #2). The book is a great resource if you have any sort of inclination to research the best buys in face wash, toner and moisturizer (as well as make up), because her staff has tried them all (and she doesn't just recommend her own line).

So after all this work and trial and error, I really don't think I'm going to save any money by cutting back on beauty products. Guess my couponing will have to do : )

I've totally tried to cut back on hair care but it never seems to work out. I always end up going back to the stuff I love! That dollar tree post was funny - and so gross...I would never put that on my face!
