A Special Ride

You took your first train ride today. You waited patiently, eating your fruit snacks, as the train was 20 minutes late. But it was well worth it when you saw that choo choo's light in the distance and felt the rush of the wind and the clanging of the wheels on the track as it pulled up next to us. You sat on my lap as we pulled away, looking out the window at the world whizzing by the window.

Your friends Nikolas and Ryan joined us a few stops later. We were on our way to the Choo Choo for a special lunch that was brought to the table by a real train. And a cupcake too. (We pretended it was your birthday so they could play the birthday song. Don't worry, we'll bring you back when you really turn two). We missed the next train home so we went to the library and read books and looked at the fishes until the next one came along.

It was our special day; your reward since you were such a good boy while Daddy was away this week. I promise that we'll have many more special days, buddy.
