Macau

On our afternoon off on Thursday, we went to Macau, which used to be under Portugal control, but has been returned to China just like Hong Kong. Macau is the new Vegas for East Asia, although it is still very much under development. There isn't much to see there yet, outside of the casinos. The cool part of trip (at least on the way there) was the TurboJet ride you take over the South China Sea to get to Macau. You sort of ride on top of the water in this big boat. It wasn't so cool on the way back as the sea was very choppy and many people were getting sick! I'm sure Macau will be a really cool tourist destination...in five years or so.
